* Update from 22.April 2023:
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّآ إِلَيْهِ رَٰجِعُونَ
Little Jawhar returned to Allah after spending Eid al-Fitr with his family. His mother expresses her deep gratitude towards everyone who supported and helped provide more time for medical researchand for her and her family to be with Jawhar during his final moments.
May Allah let Jawhar reunite with his family in Jannah and give his family the strength and comfort they need to cope with this loss.
Jawhar, a 3-year-old Moroccan-Dutch child, was urgently admitted to the children’s hospital in Utrecht in December.
He is awake, alert, and communicates through a speech computer. He indicates that he has no pain and is not receiving any pain medication. He is completely dependent on a ventilator, which the doctor wants to disconnect, leading to his death.
Mother Salwa has been given until Saturday, April 1st, by the doctor to find another hospital for Jawhar, otherwise they will pull the plug.
She has found a private clinic in Turkey, but they charge substantial fees for transportation (€28,500) and for daily care and treatment ($750 per day).
Meanwhile, she has managed to raise the amount for transportation through donations from the Ummah community. She is now seeking further donations to cover the daily costs.
